Opportunities at Allens 2019
We'll be heading to Notre Dame soon on Tuesday, 9 April 2019 for the Careers Fair!
Setting you up for success – Clerkships 101
Considering a clerkship or graduate role at a commercial law firm, but feel underprepared on what terms such as 'commerciality' and 'innovation' actually mean?
Heard about the Allens and Linklaters alliance, but not sure what an alliance is?
Are you confused about which practice group would be right for you because there are so many and you have no idea?! Then this is the session for you!
Allens is hosting a series of information sessions about clerkship opportunities in Australia, Hong Kong and London.
Our colleagues from our global alliance partner Linklaters will be joining us. Find out about our global alliance, how to become a part of our team, and the work that we do.
This is a great opportunity to get to know people from both Allens and Linklaters, and to learn more about our clerkship process and programs.
If you are a penultimate year law student and interested in attending, please register to one of the events.
Please contact Lauren Kay, Senior Graduate Resourcing Consultant (Allens) at firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries.
Dive In is an introductory program that provides students with some of the skills needed to apply for a clerkship, paralegal position or internship.
Students will get a taste of life in commercial law at a top‑tier firm. They'll get insight into the type of work they can expect, details about our business and areas of practice,
plus practical tips for preparing for work in a large law firm. Applications are welcomed from first to third year undergraduate law students or first year Juris Doctor students.
Our Indigenous Legal Internship program is designed to give Indigenous law students exposure to a commercial legal environment and the opportunity to explore the practice areas we specialise in.
You’ll work alongside experienced lawyers and gain new insights, learning and development opportunities.
Applications are welcomed from undergraduate law students in their second year or above, who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

For a head start in your career, apply for a clerkship at Allens. You’ll work with some of the most experienced lawyers in Australia and experience first‑hand the type of work you could do as a lawyer with us.
You’ll get to work as part of a team on real matters for our clients. If you’re driven, make the most of the opportunity and get to know our people, you’ll thrive during a clerkship with us.
Your development supervisor and buddy will be there to support you and help you grow. Our clerkship program is a stepping stone to bigger things. Many Clerks go on to become Graduates with us.
Applications are welcomed from penultimate year law students. Applications for our clerkship program open in line with law society guidelines.
Looking to embark on a career in corporate law? We know it can be hard to differentiate one firm from another, particularly when everyone says they 'do great work with great people'.
But what does that mean? Allens Confidential aims to answer that question.
Produced by two junior lawyers at Allens, Geneva Sekula and Roseanna Bricknell, this podcast gives you real insight into what it's like to work at Allens.
