CANDIDATES FOR VICE-PRESIDENT
Sophia Alegria Ferreira (1)
I have had the honour of being on the Notre Dame Student Law Society as Careers director in 2023 and in 2024, I would like to have even more of a positive impact on my fellow students.
This year I was able to expand the amount of careers events offered to students, with the addition of a second careers expo after two years of online careers events. Being a fourth year student I understand the needs and values of my peers and I want to continue to cater to those in any way I can.
Last year alongside my assistant director, we were able to include a new article in collaboration with alumni asking them the valuable questions that students want answered before going into the work force.
I believe that my experience in expanding the careers portfolio offerings in 2023 has given me a greater understanding that will be most useful on the executive team in helping all portfolio's run smoothly and efficiently while improving the experience of my peers.
Caitlin Miller (1)
Hi! My name is Caitlin and I am entering my 7th and (hopefully) final year at NotreDame! I am completing a Law/Arts degree majoring in applied psychology and had the honour of being on the NDSLS committee in 2023 as the Assistant Careers Director. As I approach my final year, I aspire to continue contributing to the NDSLS's mission, and I'm excited to express my interest in the roles of Vice President, Secretary or Communication and Marketing Director.
In my position this year, I have learned the importance of fostering student engagement and if elected I am committed to find innovative ways to connect with students and hear from them about what kind of initiatives they would like to see from the NDSLS for them to participate in. I believe this collaborative approach will help develop initiatives that benefit students and help them to engage with the university further as well as helping them in their time at uni and in looking towards their future aspirations.
I encourage every student to get involved with the NDSLS as it offers valuable opportunities to connect with peers and enrich your campus life. I look forward to the exciting journey ahead in 2024, and am eager to see how we can collectively elevate the NDSLS's impact. Thankyou for considering my candidacy, and I look forward to what is to come!

CANDIDATES FOR
COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING DIRECTOR
Norma Barrios (1)
After a positive year of being on the 2022/24 NDSLS committee as the Competitions Assistant Director, I feel that it would be a great experience to be a part of it again. As a dedicated student, I hope to bring fun and honour to the Notre Dame Sydney Law Society. I am a very creative person and I think this would be a great position to not only be part of a team but to also work on something I enjoy. I do have some experience using canva (as seen within the 2023 Competitions Guide) and I am very comfortable using various social media platforms. I feel I can bring these technical skills to the role.
I would be a great candidate for the Communication and Marketing Director position and would be greatly appreciative to be given an opportunity to contribute to the NDSLS.
I hope you will take the time to consider me for this role.
Mary Charbel Khater (1)
I believe I would be suited for this role as I love working within promotions and have an eye for creating and designing. As part of my double degree, one of my prerequisites for my Journalism major involves digital media and I believe that this role can enhance my skills and highlight the ones I have developed. My addiction to my phone additionally allows me to maintain attentive to how things are promoted which may be able to enhance communications and marketing within the NDSLS with the assistance of the whole team.

CANDIDATES FOR
COMPETITIONS DIRECTOR
Grace Hawkes (1)
My name is Grace, and I am in my second year of law at Notre Dame, currently studying Torts, Contract Law B and Trusts. I would like to say I am highly motivated and passionate in whatever I do, with strong communication skills, a committed study ethic and I love a challenge. I have been greatly enjoying the study of law thus far in the degree and would love to surround myself with knowledgeable peers, expanding my network at Notre Dame. I am equally effective at working independently and in cooperation with others. I would love to participate in our Notre Dame society and get involved among other like-minded law students, participating in the work and initiative cultivated by our diligent peers. After participating in this years negotiations competition, I met Norma Barrios, one of the competition assistants for the NDSLS Committee, and I was immediately inspired to become part of the committee, especially to participate in this exciting role as a competitions director, assisting students and organising and participating the events, learning throughout the process!
Lauren Copta (1)
Hi, I am Lauren Copta, a current second-year law/art student applying for the role of
Competition Director.
I would be best suited for this role as I am a very organised and detail-oriented individual, which is best suited for leading and organising future competitions and events for our law students to participate in and improve their real-life skills. After experiencing and participating in the negotiations competition this year, I know I have
benefitted greatly from competing and would like to encourage students with the same opportunities to do the same. I believe I am suited for this role as I am open to discussion and communication with our peers and teachers alike. My hobbies outside the classroom include
reading, watching movies, and catching up with friends. I’d love to expand and help more younger students to also get involved early in competitions to give them the confidence to
participate and gain real-life experience at a younger age.
